Pakistan Super League

Islamabad United won inaugural encounter of the PSL 2019

After a mesmerizing opening ceremony, Lahore Qalandars put up a good show and posted a competitive total, but their bowlers couldn’t defend that total, in the end, Islamabad United won the game by 5 wickets with 4 balls to spare.

Islamabad United won the toss and put Lahore to bat first, and they scored 171 runs in their 20 overs, 20 odd runs short of a par score on this pitch. Fakhar Zaman and Sohail Akhtar gave them a very good platform, but in the later part of the innings, their batsmen couldn’t capitalize on the start.

Islamabad United in reply started off their run-chase at a good pace but was jolted by Rahat Ali’s one 3 wickets over. Islamabad United batsmen steadied themselves and take their team out of that trouble and chased it down the total in 19.2 overs. Thanks to brillaint batting by duo Hussain Talat and Asif Ali.
