T20I series- New Zealand face uphill task against in-form Pakistan

New Zealand will take on Pakistan in the three-match T20I series that will start from 31st October. Pakistan produced a dominant performance with bat and ball and completed a whitewash against Australia in the T20I series. Pakistan Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed will be keen to extend their winning streak against New Zealand in the upcoming three-match series.

Kane Williamson will lead New Zealand for the three-match T20I series. Colin Munro, Ross Taylor and Glenn Phillips are accomplished players in the format. Munro is certainly the premier player for the side and has scored centuries in this format. In the bowling department, uncapped Ajaz Patel has been included in the T20 squad. Seth Rance, Ish Sodhi, Adam Milne and Tim Southee are bowling options for New Zealand for the upcoming T20I series.

Babar Azam was the standout performer with the bat for Pakistan in the three-match T20I series against Australia. He notched up two half-centuries in the three games played against Australia. Mohammad Hafeez also played a supporting role to Babar Azam as Pakistan posted decent scores throughout the T20I series.

The big positive for Pakistan was the tremendous form shown by left-arm spinner Imad Wasim during the series against Australia. He made emphatic return to the side with superlative performances in the first two games against Australia. Sahibzada Farhan also played a decent innings in the third and final game of the T20I series played at Dubai. Uncapped Waqas Maqsood did not get any opportunity to play for Pakistan in the T20I series.

Both the sides have played each other earlier this year; Pakistan came out on top against New Zealand in the three-match T20I series played in New Zealand.

For Pakistan, Hasan Ali, Usman Khan Shinwari and Shaheen Afridi are three premier bowlers in the pace department. Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim are two frontline spinners in this format. Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Hafeez can also bowled some overs during the T20I series against Australia.

New Zealand will certainly put up a strong fight against Pakistan in the upcoming series to be played in UAE.
