Another brilliant game of T20 Cricket comes to an end, and it was a perfect day for Islamabad United. After many ups and downs in this years’ Edition for Islamabad United, so far they are trying to come out of those and focusing back to cricket. They have a tough PSL so far, banned two players, lost second match. But you may admire of their strengths and temperament of still playing and winning matches. Now they joins Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators with 4 points each in the tournament so far. Sam Billings responsible innings give them this fantastic win over Gladiators in last over. 

After winning the toss Misbah did same, what other captains are doing more often, fielding first. They restricted opponents below 150, some fantastic death bowling display by Sami and Raees. But commentators and fans admired Young 18 years Old Shadab Khan’s bowling spell of 19-0 in his 4 overs for Islamabad. The young leggie didn’t give any opportunity to Quetta Batters hit a boundary on his brilliant bowling spell. Asad Shafiq (45 off 42), Mahmudullah unbeaten 29 off 20 and Thisara Perera 27 off 18 helped them to reach at 148. Sami and Watson took 2 wickets each, while Rumman Raees 1 wicket in his career. 

149 runs to chase wasn’t an easy task, targets can be tricky ones, But Islamabad United played sensibly. Though they lost few wickets before Billings and Watson came together and play some shots. They were 3 down at 72 and Watson was given a chance by Captain Sarfaraz when he was at 0. Quetta had to pay after this big miss by their captain and Watson made 36 off 27 and more importantly he and Billings put 63 runs together. Billings remained unbeaten on 78 off 50 balls when he hit first ball of 20th over to mid wicket for winning shot. Nawaz and another young spin bowler from Pakistan Hasan Khan was impressive, their bowling figures were 2 for 18 and 1 for 24 respectively. 

 

Player of the match was awarded to Sam Billings on his brilliant batting.
