Babar Azam retains the top spot in the T20I rankings: Leads with 13 rating points

Pakistan captain, Babar Azam, retains his top position in the T20I rankings. Babar Azam shattered the dreams of Indian players of dethroning him as the top batter. ICC released its latest set of rankings on Wednesday. Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant were amongst the biggest movers for the top ranking ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.

Iyer hit an impressive half-century during the fifth and final match of the series. While Shreyas Iyer jumped six places to 19th with a rating of 578. Pant finished the series as the equal second leading run-scorer on 115 runs, with his quickfire 44 in the fourth match seeing the left-hander to 59th position with 464 ratings.

Suryakumar Yadav remains in second place on the T20I rankings as it was decided to rest him for the final match. Yadav missed out on the chance to overtake Babar at the head of proceedings. Babar Azam extended his lead at the top of the ICC T20I Rankings by retaining his rating points of 818. The two will face each other in the eagerly awaited meeting between India and Pakistan at the Asia Cup in Dubai later this month.
