The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are a beloved team in the Indian Premier League (IPL), but they’re currently dealing with some setbacks. First, star player Glenn Maxwell was ruled out due to injury, and now key pacer Josh Hazlewood is set to miss some matches with an Achilles injury. Hazlewood shared that he’s taking a break due to “workload management,” noting that he’d been frequently bowling before the tour and needed time to recover. He hopes to start bowling again soon and be ready for RCB’s first match against the Mumbai Indians on April 2nd.

Hazlewood’s absence is a major blow to RCB, as he’s been their most consistent bowler in the power play and death overs. Last season, he took 20 wickets, making him the second-best bowler on the team behind Wanindu Hasaranga. Hazlewood is known for his economical bowling in the power play, allowing less than seven runs per over. He’s the leader of RCB’s attack and the team’s highest wicket-taker in the power play.

Hazlewood’s injury couldn’t come at a worse time for RCB, as the team is preparing to face some tough competition in the upcoming season. The Australian pacer has also been ruled out of the three-match ODI series against India, which begins on March 17th. Initially, he was only expected to miss the first test, but his Achilles became a significant problem, causing team management to send him home for treatment.

While Hazlewood’s absence is a significant loss for RCB, the team can still count on the talents of players like Glenn Maxwell. The all-rounder was selected for the ODI series against India and may be able to play a full IPL season if he proves his fitness. Maxwell’s presence on the team is crucial, as he’s known for his explosive batting and versatile skills.

Despite these challenges, RCB remains a strong team with a talented roster. They’ll need to rely on other bowlers to step up in Hazlewood’s absence and ensure they remain competitive throughout the season. With the support of their fans, RCB will be looking to make a strong showing in the upcoming IPL season.
