The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the schedule for the upcoming eighth edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL 8). The tournament will kick off on February 13th with the match between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans at the Multan Cricket Stadium. The Qalandars will be looking to make history by becoming the first team to win back-to-back titles, having defeated the Sultans in the previous edition of the tournament.

The tournament will feature teams from Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi, and will be held in two legs. The first leg will take place in Multan and Rawalpindi from February 13th to 26th, while the second leg will be held in the Gaddafi Stadium and Pindi Cricket Stadium from February 26th to March 19th. The tournament will also include a Qualifier, two Eliminators, and the final, which will take place from March 15th to 19th.

The schedule has been designed in such a way that each of the four home teams will play five matches in front of their home crowd, one against each team. The Qalandars will play five matches at the Gaddafi Stadium, while their other five matches will be in Multan, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. Similarly, Sultans’ five away matches will be in Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Lahore; Kings’ away matches will be in Rawalpindi, Lahore and Multan, and United’s five away matches will be in Karachi, Lahore and Multan.

In addition to the men’s tournament, a soft launch of the Pakistan Women’s League will also take place during the HBL PSL 8, with three exhibition matches set to take place in Rawalpindi on March 8th, 10th, and 11th. The two women’s sides are expected to comprise leading local and foreign players.

PCB Management Committee Chairman, Mr. Najam Sethi, stated that the tournament will be a massive event for the PCB and aims to make the HBL PSL bigger, better and stronger than ever before, with the goal of making it the first-choice event for leading T20 cricketers. He also mentioned that each of the six teams will enter the HBL PSL 8 with a lot at stake, making for an exciting and entertaining 34-match tournament.
