As the T20 World Cup 2024 approaches, the Indian cricket team has commenced its journey with high hopes and intense preparation. The tournament kicks off on June 2, and the first group of Indian players, including key figures like captain Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, have already landed in Mumbai. This group is set to head to the USA, with head coach Rahul Dravid and the support crew overseeing their departure.

India aim to clinch their second T20 World Cup title, bringing together a mix of seasoned veterans and promising new talent. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are part of the initial batch departing for the tournament, showcasing the team’s commitment to starting strong. Accompanying them are star players such as Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, and Kuldeep Yadav.

The first batch of players will depart on Saturday, flying from Mumbai to Dubai at 10 PM before heading to New York. The second batch, which includes Adesh Khan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Sanju Samson, will leave soon after. These players have recently concluded their IPL 2024 campaigns, with the Rajasthan Royals being knocked out by Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2 on May 24 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Vice-captain Hardik Pandya, whose Mumbai Indians were eliminated from the playoffs, traveled to London for a brief training stint. He may join the national squad directly from London.

The Indian squad for the T20 World Cup comprises:

Batters: Rohit Sharma (captain), Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav.

Wicketkeepers: Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson.

All-rounders: Hardik Pandya (vice-captain), Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja.

Bowlers: Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj.

This well-rounded team is a blend of experienced players and fresh talent, reflecting India’s strategic approach to the tournament. Their early departure and rigorous preparation underscore their dedication to achieving glory in the T20 World Cup.
