India beat West Indies in the South Africa Women’s T20I Tri-Series

India Women have defeated West Indies Women in the third match of the South Africa Women T20I Tri-Series. India Women found a 56 runs win over West Indies Women in the game played in East London.

In the third match of the series, India Women won the toss and elected to bat first.

Batting first, India Women made a total of 167 runs at the loss of two wickets in the first inning of the game with Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur both playing not-out half-centurion innings. Smriti Mandhana made 74*(51) and Harmanpreet Kaur made 56*(35) to help the team set a strong score in front of West Indies to chase in 20 overs.

Shanika Bruce and Karishma Ramharack were the only bowlers from West Indies to take a wicket in the game. Both of them took a wicket each for West Indies. West Indies conceded seven extras to the India Women in the game which include six wides and a bye.

Chasing the target of 168 runs in the second inning of the game, West Indies made {96/4} in {20 overs}. To help the team achieve the score, Shemaine Campbelle scored 47 runs off 57 balls. Hayley Matthews was the second-most run contributor for the team with 34 not-out runs off 29 balls.

Deepti Sharma took two wickets for India Women with Rajeshwari Gayakwad and Radha Yadav taking a wicket each for the team. India Women conceded nine extras to West Indies Women that include 5 leg byes, 1 no-ball and 3 wides.

Smriti Mandhana was the Player of the Match for her 74*(51) in batting.

With the win, India Women is at the top of the series’s points table with 4 points followed by South Africa with 2 points. West Indies is still to see a win in the series.
