According to sources, Pakistani players have been granted permission to continue playing in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) until February 8. The decision made by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) only applies to players not participating in the upcoming exhibition match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators.

Players selected for the exhibition game on February 5 have been instructed to return home on February 2. Earlier, all players had been asked to return home on February 2, ahead of the PSL 8 start in Multan on February 13. The recall of PSL players was due to requests from the franchises.

Top national T20 players including Mohammad Rizwan, Haris Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Naseem Shah and others are currently playing in the BPL 2023. The opening ceremony of PSL 8 will take place in Multan, with the tournament opener between 2021 winners Multan Sultans and defending champions Lahore Qalandars. The final and closing ceremony will be held in Lahore on March 19, with play-offs also being held in the city.

Lahore Qalandars will aim to become the first team to win back-to-back titles, while Islamabad United hopes to lift the trophy for a third time and become the most successful team. Rawalpindi will host 11 fixtures, Lahore and Karachi 9 each, and Multan 5.
