It was a tough start last season, as they had to wait for almost 10 games to register their first win, but not the same case this time. They kicked off Big Bash League’s 10th edition with a victory over Scorchers.
Josh Lalor (Renegades) Man of the match:
“It was a very comfortable win for us in the end. We got players who can chip in with many roles and we saw that today. Plenty of options and variety just shows the depth we’ve got. Shaun Marsh made a tough run-chase look like a walk in the park. No rest, we will be back here tomorrow afternoon, and hopefully, we get another win.”
Brief Scorecard:
Perth Scorchers 130 in 19.1 overs (Aaron Hardie 33; Kane Richardson 3-22, Josh Lalor 3-30)
Melbourne Renegades 131/3 in 16.3 overs (Shaun Marsh 62, Aaron Finch 35; Jhye Richardson 2-20)
Result: Melbourne Renegades won by 7 wickets.
