SEA Games Women’s T20 Cricket Competition: Thailand Women are the CHAMPIONS of the 2023 edition

The Final match of the SEA Games Women’s T20 Cricket Competition concluded today between Thailand Women and Indonesia Women with Thailand Women taking a 40-run win over Indonesia Women to be the champions of the 2023 edition of the competition. The 3rd place-play off of the competition also was played today where Malaysia Women took an 8-wicket win over Singapore Women.

In the final match between Thailand Women and Indonesia Women, Indonesia Women won the toss and elected to field first.

Batting first, Thailand Women made 120 runs for the loss of three wickets with Natthakan Chantham making 73* runs in 61 deliveries and Naruemol Chaiwai making 35 runs in 51 deliveries. Rosenan Kanoh was the only other batter from the team to score a run in the match who made 2 runs in 5 deliveries.

Ni Wayan Sariani took two wickets for Indonesia Women in the match with Ni Luh Dewi taking a wicket.

Indonesia Women made 80 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs of the second inning of the match. Ni Kadek Fitria Rada Rani made the most runs for the team in the match with 21* runs in 30 deliveries.

Nattaya Boochatham, Thipatcha Putthawong, Onnicha Kamchomphu, Suleeporn Laomi and Sornnarin Tippoch took a wicket each for Thailand Women in the match.

In the 3rd place-play off match played between Malaysia Women and Singapore Women, Singapore Women won the toss and elected to bat first.

Batting first, Singapore Women made 51 runs for the loss of six wickets with GK Diviya making the most runs for the team in the match with 20* runs in 46 deliveries.

Mahirah Izzati Ismail took two wickets for Malaysia Women in the match with Aina Najwa, Aisya Eleesa and Nur Dania Syuhada taking a wicket each.

Malaysia Women made 54 runs for the loss of two wickets in the second inning of the match to win the match. Elsa Hunter played the most runs in the match for the team with 23* runs in 16 deliveries.

Johanna Pooranakaran took two wickets for Singapore Women in the match.
