Nathan Coulter-Nile, the third highest wicket-taker in the Big Bash League, has agreed to a one-year deal to remain with the Melbourne Stars for BBL|13.

Coulter-Nile had a stellar season in BBL|12, taking wickets in all but one match and finishing with 19 wickets at an average of 22.31. He also scored 129 runs at an average of 25.80 and a strike rate of 145.05.

Coulter-Nile is a valuable asset to any team with his ability to bowl at any stage of the innings and contribute with the bat. He is also a very experienced player, having played over 100 ODIs and 50 T20Is for Australia.

General Manager Blair Crouch is delighted to have Coulter-Nile back at the club for another season.

“We were rapt with Nathan’s consistency in BBL|12 and he more than proved he can still match it with anyone at this level,” Crouch said.

“With his experience, he’s a great resource to have for some of our younger members of the group and we now have a fast-bowling brigade that is flexible and full of options for Peter Moores and the rest of the coaching staff.”

Coulter-Nile is a great signing for the Stars and will be a key player for them in BBL|13. He is a proven match-winner and will add a lot of experience and quality to the team.
