Uganda Women won the Kenya Quadrangular Women’s T20 Series

The Kenya Quadrangular Women’s T20 Series concluded today with Uganda Women winning the series title.

The final was played between Kenya Women and Uganda Women where Kenya Women got all-out at 80 runs against Uganda Women playing 18.2 overs of the first inning of the game. Uganda Women chased down the target of 81 runs in 11.3 overs in the second inning of the game to win the series.

In the final game, Kenya Women won the toss and elected to bat first.

Batting first in the game, Kenya Women were able to make 80 runs in total playing 18.2 overs and losing all the wickets in their hand. Daisy Njoroge was the top run scorer for the team with 21 runs off 17 balls. 

Evelyn Anyipo took 3 wickets from Uganda Women. Concy Aweko and Janet Mbabazi joined the party with two wickets each. Irene Alumo and Sarah Akiteng also joined the party with a wicket each. Uganda Women conceded seven extras to Kenya Women in the game.

Uganda Women won the game in 11.3 overs as they made 81/4 on board. Prosscovia Alako was the top run scorer for the team with 30 runs off 13 balls.

Mary Mwangi and Lavendah Idambo took 3 and 1 wickets respectively for Kenya Women in the game. Kenya Women conceded five extras to Uganda Women in the game.

Uganda Women won the game by 6 wickets.

Evelyn Anyipo was the player of the match for her 3/12 in bowling.

Today, in the series, Tanzania Women and Qatar Women played the 3rd place-play off game where Tanzania Women won the game by 28 runs to be at the 3rd position in the series.

Tanzania Women had placed a target of 130 runs to Qatar Women. But, Qatar Women could make only 101 runs before losing all of their wickets in 19.5 overs and lost the game against Tanzania Women by 28 runs.

Perice Kamunya was the player of the match in the 3rd place-play off match of the series. She made 22(22) while batting and 1/18 in bowling.

Janet Mbabazi from Uganda Women was the player of the series. She made a total of 116 runs and took a total 9 wickets in the series.
