Ire vs Zim: The first match of the three-match T20I series between Ireland and Zimbabwe took place at the Harare Sports Club. Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bowl first, a decision that proved to be a wise one as they were able to win the game.

Ireland was all out for 114 runs in 19.2 overs, with Ryan Burl picking up a three-wicket haul and Wellington Masakadza and Tendai Chatara picking up two wickets each.

In reply, Zimbabwe’s batters were not as effective as their bowlers, but facing a below-par target, Sean Williams’ 34 and Gary Ballance’s 30 helped pave the way for victory. The team five all wickets in the process, but it was enough to secure the win.

Ireland’s Mark Adair and Harry Tactor put in strong performances, grabbing two wickets apiece. However, their efforts were not enough to prevent the loss. As a result, Zimbabwe managed to win by five wickets sparing two overs,

The first match of the series was a closely contested one, but in the end, it was Zimbabwe who came out on top. The teams will now move on to the second match of the Ire vs Zim series, with both sides looking to gain an advantage in the three-match series.
