The West Indies U-19 Women’s cricket team is all set to compete in the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup, scheduled from January 18 to February 2, 2025, in Malaysia. This marks a significant milestone in Caribbean women’s cricket as the region’s young talents prepare to showcase their skills on the global stage.
The squad will be captained by Samara Ramnath, with Asabi Callender serving as vice-captain. Cricket West Indies (CWI) Director of Cricket, Miles Bascombe, expressed pride in the team’s potential, stating,
“These players represent the future of West Indies cricket. We are confident they’ll compete at the highest level and gain invaluable experience.”
The 15-member squad, along with five reserves, has been rigorously preparing through training camps at Coolidge Cricket Ground and various international tours. Head Coach Robert Samuels lauded the players’ dedication, emphasizing their readiness to represent the Caribbean with pride.

Tournament Details
The tournament features 16 teams split into four groups. West Indies are placed in Group A alongside India, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia. The top three teams from each group will advance to the Super 6 stage, with the semifinals on January 31 and the final on February 2 at the Bayuemas Oval.
