As the 2025 IPL resumes after its mid-season break, several teams are scrambling to rework strategies due to a wave of foreign player exits. A fresh foreign player availability update reveals that multiple overseas stars — particularly from England, Australia, South Africa, and the West Indies — have either flown back home or won’t return until after the league stage.
Australian speedster Mitchell Starc has headed home, ending his stint with Delhi Capitals. England’s Sam Curran and Jamie Overton are also confirmed absentees for the rest of the season, leaving Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans short on pace options. Meanwhile, uncertainty still surrounds the return of Josh Hazlewood, RCB’s standout bowler so far, putting added pressure on their already stretched bowling unit.
