Mohammad Haris Responds After Going Undrafted in BBL 15

Despite 74 Pakistani cricketers signing up for the Big Bash League (BBL) 15 Draft, Mohammad Haris was not among those picked for the 2025–26 season.

Responding to the snub, Haris remained unfazed, saying, “BBL is a prestigious tournament & I wish all participating players the best. But at the moment, my priority is national duty. League opportunities come & go and I’ll only consider playing when I’m fully available and ready.”

The wicketkeeper-batter said he’s currently focusing on evolving as a complete batter: “I’m focusing on improving my defensive technique and singles and doubles, which is essential for all formats.”

Commenting on Pakistan’s training camp, Haris revealed that players were given clarity on what went wrong in previous outings: “The purpose of this camp was to identify and rectify the mistakes. We have been told what we were doing wrong.”

He also mentioned regular chats with senior pro Shoaib Malik, but said situations vary and he prefers to trust his instinct: “I believe a player should play their natural game. You can see my game awareness in the last series against Bangladesh.”

When asked about future leadership roles, Haris dismissed any speculation: “I have no interest in captaincy.”
