Eagle Nashik Titans delivered a clinical performance in the final of the Maharashtra Premier League 2025, chasing down a challenging 191-run target to defeat Raigad Royals and claim their maiden title in style.
All eyes were on Arshin Kulkarni, and the young sensation did not disappoint. After an inconsistent season, the India U-19 star saved his best for the most important stage — slamming a composed yet aggressive 77 off 53 deliveries, anchoring the Titans’ chase with maturity beyond his years.
Opening the innings alongside Mandar Bhandari (28), Kulkarni ensured a fast start with a 62-run opening partnership in just seven overs. While wickets occasionally fell around him, Kulkarni remained the constant force, keeping the scoreboard ticking and the required rate in check.
His dismissal in the 18th over to Tanay Sanghavi could have turned the tide, but the Royals failed to capitalize. Atharva Kale, dropped twice during his short stay, made the opposition pay, crafting a handy 23 under pressure*.
At the other end, Ranjit Nikam (31)* played the finisher’s role with flair, striking cleanly and sealing the chase with a boundary, ensuring Nashik crossed the finish line with five balls remaining.
Earlier in the day, Raigad Royals had posted a competitive 190/4, thanks largely to the brilliance of Siddhesh Veer, who remained unbeaten on 99 off 59 balls. Despite falling one short of his second century this season, Veer’s knock was a masterclass in pacing a T20 innings.
Harsh Mogaveera also contributed with a breezy 48, while Nashik’s Mukesh Chaudhary picked up two crucial wickets to slow the Royals’ momentum during the death overs.
The defeat was a tough pill to swallow for the Royals, especially after setting a defendable total in the high-stakes final. But the night belonged to Eagle Nashik Titans, who held their nerves and executed their chase with precision to lift the MPL trophy for the first time.
As the dust settles in Pune, Kulkarni’s brilliance and Nashik’s all-round performance will be remembered as one of the defining stories of MPL 2025.
