Double Delight for Highveld Teams: JSK and Pretoria Capitals Secure Wins

Joburg Super Kings (JSK) and Pretoria Capitals delivered stellar performances in the SA20 mid-week doubleheader, clinching crucial victories over Durban’s Super Giants and Sunrisers Eastern Cape respectively on Tuesday. The JSK spin attack led by Tabraiz Shamsi, Donovan Ferreira, and Imran Tahir dismantled the Super Giants to secure a 28-run victory at Kingsmead. Meanwhile, the Capitals’ seamers were instrumental in their six-wicket bonus point win at Centurion.

JSK’s Spin Magic

Defending 169/4, JSK’s spinners were at their best, claiming five wickets and restricting the Super Giants to 141. Despite Quinton de Kock’s resilient 55 off 45 balls, JSK’s bowlers kept the pressure on. Imran Tahir, with his agility, pulled off a stunning catch, lifting the team’s morale.

Earlier, JSK’s batting was bolstered by contributions from Leus du Plooy (38), Jonny Bairstow (26), and Donovan Ferreira (26), with Gerald Coetzee ending the innings on a high by smashing consecutive sixes.

Pretoria Capitals’ Seam Show

At Centurion, the Capitals capitalized on early seam movement, with Eathan Bosch (2/18) and Daryn Dupavillion (3/32) leading the charge, reducing the Sunrisers to 26/5. Despite Marco Jansen’s valiant 51, the Sunrisers were bowled out for 113.

In response, the Capitals overcame early hiccups, cruising to victory with a steady partnership between Marques Ackerman (39 not out) and Liam Livingstone (14 not out), sealing the bonus point win.
