The sixth match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 concluded today with England Women finding a 4-wicket win over Ireland Women after they chased a low target of 106 runs in 14.2 overs.

In the match, Ireland Women won the toss and elected to bat first.

Batting first, Ireland Women made 105 runs before they got all out in 18.2 overs. Gaby Lewis was the top run contributor for the team with 36 runs off 37 balls. Amy Hunter followed Gaby Lewis with 15 runs off 14 balls.

Sophie Ecclestone and Sarah Glenn took three wickets for England Women in the game with Charlie Dean, Lauren Bell and Katherine Sciver-Brunt taking 2, 1 and 1 wickets respectively to join the party. England Women conceded 7 extras to Ireland Women while bowling.

England Women made 107 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 14.2 overs and won the match by 4 wickets. Alice Capsey played a quick half-century inning of 51 runs in 22 balls. Alice was the top run contributor for the team in the chase followed by Danni Wyatt with 16 runs off 13 balls.

Cara Murray took three wickets for Ireland Women in the game with Orla Prendergast and Arlene Kelly taking a wicket each. Ireland Women performed very disciplined bowling in the game with no extras given to England Women.

Alice Capsey was the Player of the Match for her 51(22) in batting.

After the win, England Women leads Group 2 of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup with 4 points and a solid Net Run Rate (NRR) of 2.497.
