Finland closed out the T20I series in style, defeating Estonia by 5 wickets in the deciding third match in Tallinn to claim a 2–1 series triumph. The standout performance of the day came from Mahesh Tambe, who produced a fiery spell of 5/19 in just two overs, dismantling Estonia’s batting lineup and shifting the momentum firmly in Finland’s favor.
After choosing to bowl, Finland faced early resistance as Estonia built a foundation through contributions from Bilal Masud (26 off 24) and Habib Khan (23 off 20). However, the game turned dramatically when Tambe came into the attack. His brief but lethal spell sent shockwaves through Estonia’s middle and lower order, claiming four wickets in the space of 11 deliveries and restricting the hosts to 141 all out in 19.4 overs.
Finland’s Chase Anchored by Mohan’s Calm Head
In response, Finland’s innings was anchored by Aravind Mohan, who played the perfect match-winning role with an unbeaten 67 off 60 balls. He held the innings together while Jordan O’Brien (18 off 11) and Faraaz Abbas (19 off 15) provided the acceleration needed to chase down the total.
Estonia managed to pick up a few wickets to keep things interesting, with Habib Khan and Arslan Amjad sharing four wickets between them. But Finland’s calm execution ensured they crossed the line with 11 balls to spare, sealing the series 2-1.
