The Rajasthan Royals (RR) emerged victorious in a nail-biting match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) thanks to an impressive innings from Jos Buttler. The English opener, who led the charge with a half-century, has been in excellent form this season, scoring three half-centuries in four matches.
In the match against CSK, Buttler took the bowlers down in the powerplay and steadied the innings after a few quick wickets. He was named Player of the Match and received high praise from former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh, who called him the number one top batter in world cricket at the moment.
“I fell short of words to praise Jos Buttler. He is a proper batter of the cricket ball. He uses the crease to perfection, possesses good technique, and he has good footwork against pace and spin. For me, he’s the No. 1 batter in world cricket at the moment.” Harbhajan said on Star Sports.
Buttler also reached the milestone of 3000 IPL runs during his knock against CSK, becoming the third-fastest to achieve the feat behind KL Rahul and Chris Gayle.
Despite suffering a hand injury, Buttler’s form at the top of the order has been crucial for his side, and the Rajasthan-based franchise will be hoping he can continue his sensational start to the season in the upcoming matches.
The narrow victory against CSK in their home ground was a significant achievement for Rajasthan Royals, who will be looking to build on this momentum as the tournament progresses.
