The stage is set for a thrilling week in the DP World ILT20 Season 2 playoffs! After an exhilarating league stage, the top four teams are ready to battle it out for the coveted trophy.
Eliminator Kicks Off on Tuesday, February 13th:
The action begins with the Eliminator on Tuesday, February 13th, at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The Abu Dhabi Knight Riders will take on the Dubai Capitals in a do-or-die clash. Both teams have shown resilience throughout the tournament, making it a match not to be missed!
Qualifier 1 Follows on Wednesday, February 14th:
The next day, the Dubai International Stadium will host Qualifier 1 between MI Emirates and the defending champions, Gulf Giants. MI Emirates, led by the explosive Kieron Pollard, topped the league table, while the Gulf Giants, under James Vince’s captaincy, are known for their fighting spirit. This promises to be a close encounter!
Qualifier 2 and Final Round Out the Excitement:
The winner of the Eliminator will face the loser of Qualifier 1 in Qualifier 2 on Thursday, February 15th, at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Finally, the grand finale will be held on February 17th at the iconic “Ring of Fire” Stadium in Dubai.
Intense Competition and High Stakes:
This year’s playoffs are filled with excitement, as all teams except MI Emirates battled their way back from the bottom of the table. Each team has its strengths and weaknesses, making the competition unpredictable.
The tournament also features individual player awards like the Green Belt for most runs, the White Belt for most wickets, and the Red Belt for MVP. The Blue Belt for the best UAE player is also a coveted prize.
Witnessing History in the Making:
With a total prize pool of $1.3 million and prestigious individual awards, the pressure is on! Cricket fans are in for a treat as they witness some of the best players in the world showcase their skills.
