Imad Wasim, the captain of Karachi Kings, expressed his gratitude to their fans for their unwavering support during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8. In a video posted by the Kings, Imad acknowledged that although they played good cricket, things did not go their way.

He thanked the fans for their support, saying, “You supported us throughout, but unfortunately, the results didn’t go our way. We played good cricket. Had we won three to four close games, we would have made it to the playoffs.” He also acknowledged that the fans are disappointed, just as the team is, and that they will come back stronger next year with better planning.

Karachi Kings won only three out of their ten matches during the league stage of PSL 8. However, they finished their PSL 8 campaign on a high note by defeating their arch-rivals Lahore Qalandars at their home ground.

Imad’s personal performance was one of the highlights of the event. He scored 404 runs in ten matches and is still the third-highest run-scorer in the ongoing season. In addition, he took nine wickets in as many matches. His outstanding all-round performance earned him a spot in the national T20I team for a series against Afghanistan. He was named among the 15-member squad for the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan scheduled at the end of March.

The T20I squad against Afghanistan includes Shadab Khan (c), Abdullah Shafique, Azam Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Ihsanullah, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Shan Masood, Tayyab Tahir, and Zaman Khan. The team also has three reserved players: Abrar Ahmed, Haseebullah, and Usama Mir. The first T20I is scheduled for March 24, followed by the second T20I on March 26, and the third T20I on March 27, all to be played in Sharjah.
