Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh and Nepal to host ICC U19 T20 World Cups

ICC has announced hosts of all ICC U19 global events until 2027, where Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh and Nepal got chances to host ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cups. Malaysia and Thailand will be hosting the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 whereas Bangladesh and Nepal will be hosting the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2027 jointly.

International Cricket Council (ICC) have announced the hosts with a media release on their official site. According to the ICC, the hosts were selected via a competitive bidding process overseen by a Board sub-committee chaired by Martin Snedden. The media release also mentions that the ICC Board accepted the recommendations of the committee who conducted a thorough review of each bid along with ICC management.

The media release also mentioned the qualification pathway for both the 10-team ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.

Here’s what the release contains:

“The qualification pathway for the 10-team ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 was approved. Eight teams will qualify for the event automatically comprising the top three teams from each group from the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023, the host Bangladesh (if not in the top three of Group 1) and the next highest ranked teams on the MRF Tyres ICC T20I Rankings on 27 February 2023. The remaining two teams will be identified through the 10-team ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier.” – ICC media release
