Nepal’s young star Dipendra Singh Airee has etched his name into cricket history, becoming only the third player to smash six sixes in an over in T20 Internationals. This remarkable feat occurred on Saturday during the ACC Men’s Premier Cup clash against Qatar at the AI Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman.

Airee unleashed his power-hitting prowess in the final over of Nepal’s innings, taking apart Qatari bowler Kamran Khan. His brutal assault yielded an impressive 64 runs off just 21 balls, including a staggering seven sixes and three fours. This belligerent knock propelled Nepal’s total to a commanding 210 runs.

This isn’t the first time Airee has grabbed headlines with his batting prowess. Last year, during the Asian Games against Mongolia, he smashed the fastest T20I fifty, reaching the milestone in a mere nine balls. This feat surpassed the previous record of 12 balls held by legendary Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh.

Interestingly, Yuvraj Singh is also part of the exclusive club of batsmen to achieve six sixes in a T20I over. He accomplished this feat during the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007 against England. West Indies’ Kieron Pollard joined this elite company in 2021, hammering six sixes off Sri Lankan bowler Akila Dananjaya.

Airee’s heroics against Qatar not only showcase his immense talent but also serve as a major confidence booster for Nepal as they prepare for bigger challenges. With the T20 World Cup fast approaching, this young prodigy has undoubtedly put the cricket world on notice.
