Pakistan’s cricket analysts have delved into the details surrounding the World Cup 2023 venues for their national team. In response to their inquiry, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed a desire to change their match location against Australia, opting for Chennai over Afghanistan.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) is adamant that Pakistan should face India in Ahmedabad, but Pakistan has raised concerns, stating that they require government approval. This factor has contributed to the delay in announcing the schedule for the upcoming World Cup.

As the scheduled ODI World Cup in India approaches, objections raised by the PCB have caught attention, signaling a shift in their approach this time around.

Diligently examining venue data, Pakistan’s analysts have identified specific objections based on various factors. Some authorities speculate that India intentionally proposed venues that could pose challenges for the Pakistani team, including pitch conditions, practice facilities, and travel arrangements. These concerns have sparked discussions and further analysis among the relevant stakeholders.

Chennai’s pitch, renowned for favoring spinners, presents a particular challenge for Pakistan in their match against Afghanistan, known for their talented slow bowlers. Consequently, Pakistan has requested a relocation of their match against Australia to Chennai and their match against Afghanistan to Bengaluru.

Despite the ICC’s emphasis on revenue, urging the Pakistan-India match to be held in the expansive Ahmedabad stadium, accommodating 100,000 spectators, Pakistan remains steadfast in seeking government permission before committing to the proposal. Their priority lies in obtaining the necessary approvals before providing any assurances.

The analysts have diligently compiled comprehensive data on all the venues for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), highlighting their characteristics in terms of favoring spinners, pacers, or offering favorable conditions for batsmen.

According to the proposed schedule by ‘CricInfo’ on June 11th, Pakistan’s initial two qualifying matches are set for October 6th and 12th in Hyderabad Deccan. The highly anticipated Pakistan-India match in Ahmedabad is tentatively scheduled for October 15th, followed by the match against Australia in Bengaluru on October 20th.

The matches against Afghanistan and South Africa are planned for Chennai on the 23rd and 27th, respectively. A match against Bangladesh in Kolkata is scheduled for October 31st, and Pakistan will face New Zealand in Bengaluru on November 5th. Finally, Pakistan will play against England in Kolkata on November 12th.
