In a strategic move signaling Pakistan’s growing presence in global cricket, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has granted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to 13 of its top national players, allowing them to compete in international franchise tournaments. The decision clears key names, including Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, for action in the Big Bash League (BBL), marking a critical window for Pakistan stars granted No Objection Certificates (NOC). Their NOC covers December 14 to 28, aligning with the BBL draft on June 19.
This green light from the PCB follows their exclusion from the ongoing T20I home series against Bangladesh. While fans were surprised by their absence, the move now appears part of a larger strategy to promote international exposure for players.
PCB Grants NOCs to 13 Players for Various Leagues Across the Globe
Veteran pacer Mohammad Amir, currently showcasing his skills in England’s T20 Blast for Essex, will stay on English soil with a PCB-approved NOC valid until July 18. Meanwhile, Haris Rauf is headed to the United States for the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025, starting this Friday. The participation of these key bowlers underscores the importance of global playing experience in maintaining high-performance standards.
Pakistan’s Test captain, Shan Masood, along with pacers Mohammad Abbas, Hasan Ali, and Khurram Shahzad, will continue their County Championship stints in England. Their NOCs stretch into late summer, supporting long-format readiness while aligning with club commitments. Abbas will be available until July 2, while Hasan and Shahzad’s NOCs extend until September 30 and 27, respectively.
All-rounder Mohammad Nawaz and promising batter Mohammad Hassan Khan have secured permission to join Caribbean-based leagues, namely the Guyana Super League and the CPL. Rising talent Khawaja Nafay also enters the international arena with his NOC for the Global Super League.
