PSL 10 star-studded commentary panel unveiled, big star set to make debut

As the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) marks its 10th season, it’s not only the cricketers who are making headlines—it’s the commentators in the commentary box. With the event kicking off on April 11 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, the highly awaited T20 tournament promises adrenaline-fueled cricket action, boosted by a commentary team filled with world icons. The PSL 10 commentary panel is as follows:

Sir Alastair Cook set to make PSL 10 commentary debut

Among the most surprising additions is Sir Alastair Cook, former England Test captain and one of the game’s most respected figures. Known for his calm demeanor and sharp cricketing intellect, Cook will be stepping into the PSL commentary booth for the very first time. His debut adds a new dimension to a tournament increasingly gaining international prestige.

With him will be a combination of experienced broadcasters and past international greats, such as Mark Nicholas, the perpetual well-spoken voice who has worked for Sky Sports and Channel 9, and past England internationals Dominic Cork and Mark Butcher. South Africa’s JP Duminy and Australia’s Mike Haysman will introduce their own brand of style, while Bangladesh’s Athar Ali Khan and New Zealand’s Martin Guptill will add a new international view. The lineup is completed by Australian legend Lisa Sthalekar, a two-time Women’s World Cup champion.

Pakistan will be strongly represented behind the box, featuring legends such as Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Ramiz Raja, and Aamir Sohail spearheading the local commentary effort. They will be joined by Bazid Khan, Urooj Mumtaz, and Sikander Bakht, providing a balanced blend of in-depth analysis and emotive local perspective.

In a revolutionary step, PSL X will also provide whole-match coverage in Urdu for the first time—serving millions of native followers. The Urdu commentary team will feature talent such as Ali Younis, Marina Iqbal, Salman Butt, and experienced broadcaster Tariq Saeed, making the game more inclusive than ever.

PSL CEO Salman Naseer welcomed the decision: “This commentary panel is a testament to the league’s increasing profile. With legendary voices and new developments such as full Urdu commentary, we want to get fans closer to the game than ever before.”
