PSL 2024: Complete list of promoted and demoted players

As the PSL 2024 draft approaches on December 14 in Lahore, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled a comprehensive list detailing player category upgrades and downgrades, adding a layer of anticipation to team compositions in the upcoming season. Notable adjustments include Mirza Tahir Baig, Rumman Raees, and Mir Hamza, who have been demoted from gold to silver categories based on successful relegation requests.

Contrastingly, Quetta Gladiators players Naseem Shah and Iftikhar Ahmed have secured promotions from diamond to platinum categories, signaling a recognition of their performances. Sarfaraz Ahmed, the seasoned campaigner, has shifted to the diamond category from gold, underlining his significance in the PSL landscape. Another significant upgrade is seen in Peshawar Zalmi’s wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris, who transitioned to the diamond category from gold, marking a noteworthy ascent in his status.

Multan Sultans’ fast bowlers Abbas Afridi and Ihsanullah, previously emerging picks, have now been elevated to the gold category, showcasing their growth and impact in the league. Islamabad United witnesses upgrades for Azam Khan and Faheem Ashraf, moving from gold to the diamond category, highlighting their enhanced contributions.

Conversely, player demotions also characterize the changes, with Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Hasnain, Haider Ali, and Asif Ali facing shifts in their categories. Notably, players who have represented Pakistan internationally cannot be relegated below the gold category, ensuring a minimum level of recognition for their experience and skill.
