In a major move to safeguard the ongoing HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced today that PSL 10 matches moved to UAE due to heightened security concerns. This decision comes after what the PCB described as a deliberate and reckless Indian strike aimed at disrupting cricket at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The board has confirmed that the final eight matches of the league — originally scheduled in Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Multan — will now be hosted in the United Arab Emirates. Exact dates and updated venues are expected to be released shortly.
Security First: PCB Responds to External Threats as PSL 10 Matches Move to UAE
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the escalation, calling it an irresponsible act that directly jeopardized the safety of players and officials. “The Indian targeting of Rawalpindi Stadium was clearly intended to derail HBL PSL X,” Naqvi said. “As custodians of this league and its values, we have prioritized the safety and mental well-being of all involved.”
Naqvi reaffirmed the board’s long-held belief that politics and sports must remain separate, but emphasized that this attack forced their hand. “We had no choice but to act. With PSL matches moved to UAE, we’re not just protecting our players — we’re preserving the integrity of the game.”
Focus Remains on Cricket and Player Well-being
The PCB’s swift action reflects its commitment to keeping cricket alive in the face of adversity. Officials noted that both domestic and international players were consulted, and all stakeholders have shown support for the venue change. With the tournament entering its critical final phase, fans can expect uninterrupted matches in a secure and festive atmosphere.
Despite the change, enthusiasm for the tournament remains high. “We’ve faced challenges before and emerged stronger. This is no different,” Naqvi concluded. “Our fans, players, and cricket itself will triumph — no matter the venue.”
