Saint Lucia Kings Eye Historic Title Defence in CPL 2025
After clinching their maiden CPL title in 2024, the Saint Lucia Kings are stepping into the 2025 season with a champion’s mindset and a roster built for repeat success. With a combination of world-class international players and rising Caribbean talent, the Kings are ready to mount a serious title defence.
Global Stars Return to Lead the Charge
At the heart of the Kings’ campaign is the returning duo of Tim David and Tabraiz Shamsi. Known for his explosive finishing with the bat, David played a pivotal role in last year’s title run. Meanwhile, Shamsi continues to be a vital component in the middle overs with his deceptive spin and vast T20 experience.
Their presence brings not only skill but a winning mentality—something crucial in high-stakes knockout scenarios that define the Caribbean Premier League.
Local Backbone Remains Strong
In a smart move, the Kings have retained much of their 2024 title-winning core, including Alzarri Joseph, Johnson Charles, Roston Chase, and Matthew Forde. These players not only understand the dynamics of Caribbean conditions but have shown consistency in both group stages and playoffs.
Wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert adds further stability at the top, while David Wiese brings finishing prowess and bowling depth to the all-rounder department.
