The fifth match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 concluded between Bangladesh Women and Sri Lanka Women with Sri Lanka Women winning the game to make two wins in two matches for them in the World Cup.

In the match played between Bangladesh Women and Sri Lanka Women, Bangladesh Women won the toss and elected to bat first.

Batting first, Bangladesh Women made 126 runs at the loss of 8 wickets with Sobhana Mostary being the top run contributor to the team in achieving the total with 29 runs off 32 balls. Niga Sultana followed Sobhana Mostary with 28 runs in 34 deliveries.

Oshadi Ranasinghe took three wickets in the game for Sri Lanka Women with Chamari Athapaththu and Inoka Ranaweera taking 2 and 1 wickets respectively. Sri Lanka Women conceded 13 extras to Bangladesh Women while bowling.

With opener Harshitha Samarawickrama making 69 not-out runs off 50 balls, Sri Lanka Women successfully chased the target of 127 runs in 18.2 overs. They made 129/3 in 18.2 Overs.

Marufa Akter was the only bowler from Bangladesh Women to take wickets in the game for the team. She was the one to take all the lost wickets of Sri Lanka Women in the game. Bangladesh Women conceded 3 extras to Sri Lanka Women while bowling.

Harshitha Samarawickram was the Player of the Match for her 69*(50) in batting.
