
Pakistani all-rounder Shadab Khan, who is donning Sussex’s jersey in the ongoing T20 Blast 2023, has achieved a milestone in T20 Cricket. Ageing 24 years and 247 days only, the Mianwali-born becomes second youngest-cricketer to feature in 250 T20 matches.
Shadab achieved this milestone on 8th June 2023 featuring in a match versus Middlesex. His name now appears in record books as the second-youngest cricketer to play 250 or more T20 matches. Notably, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan is the youngest cricketer to hold the record for 250 or more T20 matches.
Shadab now has 2408 T20 runs at a strike rate of 135.73 and eight fifty-plus scores. As far as his bowling performances are concerned, he has bagged 280 wickets with a five-wicket haul averaging 23.31 and an economy of 7.35.
Discussing the SUSS vs MIDDX match, Shadab scored 59 runs helping his team amass 181. It eventually became impossible for Middlesex to chase it down and they fell short of balls on 177. Although Shadab did not contribute with the wickets, he was named player of the match award for his brilliant batting showcase.
Sussex, after managing to win by four runs, were placed 7th on the South Group’s points table, while Middlesex retained their position at the bottom of table with eight out of eight defeats.
