The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) turned down the request to host IPL 2025 in UAE, citing a prior commitment to the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2025). With the venue crisis unresolved, the tournament faces further delays, while the PCB secures Dubai for PSL’s thrilling finale.
Why the UAE Chose PSL 2025 Over IPL?
Sources reveal that the PCB had already locked in Dubai for PSL 10’s playoffs before the BCCI’s approach. The ECB’s decision has left Indian cricket officials in a tough spot, forcing them to explore a September window—a move that risks clashing with the Asia Cup 2025. Meanwhile, PSL 10 gains momentum, with its remaining matches shifting to the UAE after last-minute security concerns in Rawalpindi.
With Dubai off the table, the BCCI must now find an alternative IPL 2025 venue crisis solution. Speculations suggest Sri Lanka or England as potential hosts, but logistical hurdles remain. On the other hand, PSL 10 fans can expect an electrifying finish, with four league matches and playoffs set for UAE stadiums.
