Watch: Bangladesh Smash Their Highest-Ever T20I Total Against Pakistan

Bangladesh cricket fans had reason to celebrate on Sunday as the team delivered a historic performance against Pakistan in the third and final T20I at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. In a powerful display of batting brilliance, Bangladesh posted their highest-ever T20I total against Pakistan, adding a commanding 196-6, rewriting a 13-year-old record and showcasing their growing prowess in the shortest format.

This milestone was especially notable as it marked the highest T20I score against Pakistan by Bangladesh, surpassing the previous best of 175/6 recorded in 2012 at Pallekele. The aggressive yet calculated approach of the Bangladeshi top order made the difference this time around.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, openers Parvez Hossain Emon and Tanzid Hasan launched a ferocious assault on Pakistan’s bowling attack. Emon was unstoppable, hammering 66 off just 34 balls, while Tanzid’s 42 off 32 offered steady support. Their 100-run partnership inside 11 overs gave Bangladesh the kind of platform they’ve long aimed for in big T20 clashes.

Pakistan’s bowlers looked visibly under pressure, with Faheem Ashraf finally breaking the opening stand by removing Tanzid. Emon fell soon after to Shadab Khan, but the damage had already been done — Bangladesh had laid the foundation for a massive total.

Towhid Hridoy (25 off 18) and skipper Litton Das (22 off 18) maintained the momentum, rotating the strike well and keeping the scoreboard ticking. The finishing touches were added by Jakeer Ali, who struck a rapid 15 off 9 balls, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who chipped in with a quick 8 off 3.

For Pakistan, Hasan Ali and Abbas Afridi picked up two wickets each, while Faheem Ashraf and Shadab Khan managed one apiece. But despite individual efforts, Pakistan were unable to contain Bangladesh’s aggressive batting unit.
