KARACHI SEALS THE VICTORY AFTER A NAIL BITER!

The second match of today was between the defending champions Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings.

Peshawar won the toss and Skipper Sammy elected to bat first against the Karachi Kings.

Kamran Akmal and Tamim Iqbal opened for Zalmis and the Skipper Imad Wasim himself opened with the ball for his team, Karachi Kings.

After smashing 15 off the first over, Zalmis lost their first wicket in the second over. Kamran Akmal got dismissed by Muhammad Amir in his first over.

Muhammad Amir took early two wickets of the openers and then former Peshawar Zalmi player, Shahid Afridi, who is now on Karachi Kings side took his first wicket of Muhammad Hafeez.

Zalmis lost their first 3 wickets in 38 runs, and it didn’t slow down. Karachi Kings were building up the pressure and three of the Zalmi players got run out by Irfan Jr.

Zalmis were struggling at 78runs, at the loss of 8 wickets. But Karachi Kings couldn’t take the wicket of Dwayne Smith, that proved to be dangerous for them.

In the last four overs, Zalmis scored 48 runs. Dwayne Smith’s half-century proved to be a saviour for the sinking batting line-up of Peshawar.

Dwayne scored unbeaten 71 off 51 balls, whereas whole Zalmi batting line up managed to score 53 off 71 balls.

Muhammad Amir grabbed two wickets in his two overs at the cost of only 6 runs. Shahid Afridi took two wickets, Tymal Mills and Muhammad Irfan Jr. took one wicket each.

Zalmis gave the target of 132 runs to the Karachi Kings.

Karachi Kings were batting smoothly and were cruising towards the target. But Zalmis excellent bowling didn’t allow them to hit big shots.

At one stage, Zalmis had lost the hope of winning but their morals were high and with excellent strategies, they managed to bring the match to the last over.

Karachi Kings required 5 runs off their last over. Muhammad Asghar came to bowl the last over.

Karachi lost the wicket of Muhammad Rizwan on the third ball of the last over. They now required 3 runs off 3 balls when the Skipper Imad Wasim, himself came to face the nail-biting moments of the match.

Imad Wasim smashed a six on his first ball and won the match for his team by five wickets.

Karachi Kings remains unbeaten and also topped the points table.

Dwayne Smith of the losing side was named as the Player of the match for his unbeaten 71.
