All you should know about New Zealand tour of Pakistan 2024

On Wednesday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed the schedule for the New Zealand tour of Pakistan 2024 as the Black Caps are gearing up to visit the cricket-loving nation for a five-match T20I series. While the series was already on the cards for months, the official schedule was yet to be revealed.

According to the details disclosed by the board, the Pindi Cricket Stadium will host the first three T20Is, while Lahore’s Gadaffi Stadium will host the teams for the remaining two games. The five matches will be played on 18th, 20th, 21st, 25th, and 27th of April.

It is pertinent to mention that the Kiwis will land in Pakistan on April 14th and will engage in practice and training sessions ahead of the series. The series will serve as a practice forum for both sides as the T20 World Cup 2024 looms in June.

Furthermore, it will be Shaheen Shah Afridi’s second task as a T20I captain. He did not have a good beginning to his T20I captaincy losing to the same contestant by 4-1 during the Pakistan tour of New Zealand 2024 earlier this year.

As far as the Kiwis are concerned, they are determined to continue the winning momentum without their key players. Big names like Kane Williamson and Trent Boult will render their services to their respective IPL teams, as the 17th edition begins on March 22nd.

When did New Zealand last visited Pakistan?

For Black Caps, it will be their third visit to Pakistan within a span of 17 months. They voyaged the cricket-loving nation in April 2023 for ten white-ball matches. Earlier, in December 2022/January 2023, they played two Tests and three ODIs which were part of ICC Men’s Championships.
