The Guyana Amazon Warriors defeated the Trinbago Knight Riders by 9 wickets in the Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) to secure their place in the final.
The Knight Riders won the toss and batted first, but they struggled to get going from the start. Orla Prendergast and Dottin were the only batters to reach double figures, scoring 13 from 22 balls and 25 from 21 balls respectively. The Knight Riders were bowled out for just 72 in 17 overs.
The Warriors chased down the target with ease, thanks to Sophie Devine’s 38 from 19 balls. Devine hit three sixes in her innings, and she was well supported by Stafanie Taylor, who scored 17 not out from 8 balls.
The Warriors will now face the Barbados Royals in the final of the WCPL. The Royals are the number 1 side of the league.
