In a landmark achievement, Rohit Sharma etched his name in the annals of T20 cricket history by becoming the first player to hit 500 sixes in the format during the IPL 2024 clash against Chennai Super Kings.

The former Mumbai Indians captain showcased his batting prowess by hammering 105 runs off 63 balls, which included five sixes and 11 fours. However, despite Rohit’s heroic effort, Mumbai Indians fell short of the target set by CSK, losing the match by 20 runs.

Earlier in the game, CSK posted a challenging total of 206 runs, setting the stage for a thrilling encounter. Despite Rohit’s century, MI could only manage to reach 186 runs, ultimately conceding victory to their opponents.

Meanwhile, in a parallel milestone moment for Chennai Super Kings, former captain MS Dhoni notched up his 250th match for the franchise. Dhoni, a stalwart of CSK since the inception of the league, has been a linchpin of the team’s success over the years, except for two seasons when CSK faced a ban from the IPL.

It’s worth noting the unique leadership dynamics in the match, with Ruturaj Gaikwad captaining CSK in the absence of Dhoni, while Hardik Pandya led the charge for Mumbai Indians. Despite the change in leadership, both teams displayed commendable performances, with individual milestones adding extra flair to the intense contest.

As the IPL 2024 season unfolds, cricket fans can expect more thrilling encounters and milestone moments as the battle for supremacy continues on the T20 cricketing stage.
