PSL 2025: All Peshawar Zalmi games may take place at Arbab Niaz Stadium

Javed Afridi, the owner of Peshawar Zalmi, has made a significant revelation regarding the future of Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches, claiming that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is in favor of hosting games at the Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar. Afridi asserted that this decision is backed by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Ali Amin Khan, who has allocated funds for the completion of the stadium’s remaining 20%.

In a tweet, Afridi expressed his satisfaction with the progress, stating, “Had a productive call with CM KP @AliAminKhanPTI. He has given directives to the sports department to release funds for the remaining 20% job at Arbab Niaz Stadium Peshawar.” Additionally, he emphasized the enthusiasm of PCB’s chairman for bringing PSL matches to Peshawar, promising fans an opportunity to witness international stars on KP soil.

Meanwhile, the distribution of matches for PSL 10 sees Lahore and Rawalpindi hosting more games compared to Karachi, which is slated to hold only five matches due to lower turnout in the previous season. The PSL Governing Council is set to convene by the end of May 2024 to finalize the next season’s window and playing conditions.

Notably, the proposed dates for PSL 10 are from April 7th to May 20th, overlapping with the Indian Premier League (IPL). This shift from the traditional February-March window is necessitated by the ICC Champions Trophy being hosted in Pakistan during that period, posing scheduling constraints for the PCB.
